How Can I Make Money Blogging?
That is the question of the hour. Thats is what this site is primarily about. So you have written articles, have good material, solid readership and decent traffic.. now what?
Google Adsense: By far the most widely known method of advertising on the web. This site has it as well as many of your favorites. The ads are targeted to your site’s content, so if you have a post about goats you will problably get some ads for lawnmowers. It’s easy to register for and set up, however, it is probably the lowest paying form of site advertising. You get paid for clicks and the minimum payout is $100 so a new blogger may have to wait seemingly forever to get any money.
Paid Links: This is another very popular method for our blog to earn money. Sites like Text Link Ads will handle the setup and get paid links onto your site. Different from contextual ads, paid links are bought for a set price to appear on your site for a set period of time. Readers clicking the links have nothing to do with the price of the add, it is agreed upon based on several factors including traffic, click through rate and the niche your blog is in. You could also offer paid links yourself if you don’t mind administering them. The Text Link Ads are nice because you have to do nothing to get it rolling.
Paid Posts: I haven’t tried it yet but this is another popular method to make money with your blog. Basically, you get paid to write a review for a product. Of course the product could be anything from goat lawnmowers to a writeup about a website. If anyone is interested in a post on this blog just contact me and we can get into details. I’m just starting.. so I’m cheap. Get on it before this site explodes!
Affiliate Programs:There are tons of affiliate programs to try out. These work by you refering traffic to thier website and if the reader you referred pruchases or signs up for something you get some sort of kickback. I haven’t tried this out much, but sites like Text Link Ads or Blog Rush have affiliate programs or even hosting companies such as Blue Host or Site5 pay affiliate links.
Those are just a few ways to monetize your blog. First thing first, though… Build traffic.
